Considering the safety of passengers, the administration has made unprecedented and sophisticated arrangements this time. High definition cameras and facial recognition systems based on artificial intelligence have been installed on the route. With the help of these techniques, many suspects have been identified so far, who were found to be associated with terrorist organizations.
The system is fed with pictures of active terrorists and their aides. If a suspect is caught on camera, the alert immediately reaches the monitoring center.
Also, the travel route has been declared a no-fly zone till August 10. During this period there will be total ban on flying of any drone or UAV. Security also includes CCTV, drones, dog squads and bulletproof vehicles. Pilgrim vehicles are kept separate from general civilian traffic so that security arrangements are not breached.
The first batch of the journey has left Jammu on 2nd July. These devotees will reach Nunwan base camp at Baltal and Pahalgam by noon. Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha will formally start the Yatra by paying darshan of Baba Barfani on July 3 at 7 am.
Religious significance of Amarnath cave.
Amarnath Cave is considered very sacred in Hinduism. This cave is located at an altitude of about 3,888 meters above sea level in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is believed that this is where Lord Shiva revealed the secret of immortality to Mother Parvati. This is the reason why this Tirtha is called "Tirthon Ka Tirtha".
The naturally formed ice Shivling inside the cave is worshiped as Baba Barfani. In the month of Shravan this Shivlinga takes full shape and every year lakhs of devotees make the arduous journey to have a glimpse of it.
