How to celebrate Raksha Bandhan?
On the day of Raksha Bandhan, after taking a bath, wear clean clothes and remember your Ishtadev, keep roli, sandalwood, akshat, curd, rakhi and sweets in a plate. Also keep a ghee lamp in the plate with which you can perform the aarti of the brother. First of all, worship God with this plate.
After this, make the brother sit facing the east or north direction. At the time of tying the Raksha Sutra, the head of the brother or sister should not be open. Therefore, there must be a chunari on the sister's head and a clean cloth or handkerchief on the brother's head.
After this, apply tilak on the brother's forehead and then tie the Raksha Sutra. After this, do the aarti of the brother. Then feed sweets and wish well for the brother. After tying the Rakhi, take the blessings of the parents and the Guru. After this, give gifts to the sister according to your ability. Give such items as gifts which are auspicious for both.
Three miraculous knots of Rakhi.
